The SOUND Was Stolen – concept by BT x io

THE SOUND WAS STOLEN

Track 01 — Barz & Bloodlines

Concept: Cinematic dark-fantasy overture / spoken-word ritual
Length: ~3:00–3:45
Tempo: Begins almost beatless → gradually reveals a 68 BPM war pulse
Mood: Ancient, oppressive, ominous → awakening
Sound: Subterranean ambience, distant male choir, elven female choir, enormous war drums, chains, stone, low brass, heartbeat bass, ticking percussion

[0:00 — THE OLD WORLD]

[Total darkness. Wind moves through enormous stone chambers.]

[One distant drumbeat.]

BOOOOOOM.

[Silence.]

NARRATOR — deep, ancient voice:

Before the Spires touched the heavens…

Before gold became law…

Before the Highbloods taught the realm
that beauty belonged to them…

There was…

rhythm.

[BOOM.]

Before kings carried scepters,
warriors carried drums.

Before spells were written…

they were beaten into the earth.

[BOOM… BOOM.]

And when ten thousand Orcs struck the same rhythm…

mountains listened.

[0:40 — GRIMECASTING]

[Deep throat singing slowly enters beneath the narration.]

NARRATOR:

They called it GrimeCasting.

Not music.

Not magic.

Something older than both.

A language carved into bone.

A rhythm passed from blood…

to blood…

to blood.

[Three enormous drum hits.]

ORC CHOIR — distant:

Blood to blood.

Stone to stone.

Beat to beat.

We call it home.

NARRATOR:

The Orc clans sang when children were born.

They drummed when warriors died.

They beat the earth before battle…

and thunder answered.

[1:15 — THE ELVES]

[The Orc drums abruptly disappear.]

[A beautiful, sterile elven choir replaces them. Crystal chimes.]

NARRATOR:

Then came the Crystal Spires.

The Highbloods called the old rhythms…

primitive.

Dangerous.

Uncontrolled.

The Council spoke of order.

The corporations spoke of progress.

The mages spoke of stability.

And all three feared the same thing:

a people who could still make the earth answer them.

[1:45 — THE GREAT SILENCE]

[Paper unrolling. Magical resonance.]

ELVEN HERALD — cold, elegant voice:

By decree of the High Council,

all unsanctioned percussion,
ancestral rhythm,
war chanting,
and rhythmic thaumaturgy

are hereby forbidden.

Possession of ceremonial drums
shall constitute sedition.

Performance of GrimeCasting…

shall constitute treason.

[Stamp.]

ELVEN HERALD:

For the safety of the realm.

[Silence.]

[2:10 — WHAT THEY TOOK]

[Chains dragging across stone.]

NARRATOR:

They burned the drums.

They shattered the halls.

They imprisoned the Grimepriests.

Children grew old
without hearing the songs of their grandfathers.

And beneath the Crystal Spires…

the Iron Hollows became quiet.

[Long pause.]

For three hundred years…

the Orcs obeyed.

[Whispering begins somewhere in the darkness.]

Or so the Elves believed.

[2:40 — THE FIRST PULSE]

[Very faint heartbeat.]

THUMP.

[Pause.]

THUMP.

UNKNOWN ORC — whispering:

You can’t kill a rhythm.

[THUMP.]

UNKNOWN ORC:

You can bury it.

[THUMP. THUMP.]

You can outlaw it.

[THUMP. THUMP.]

You can spill the blood
of everyone who remembers it.

[The heartbeat becomes a war drum.]

UNKNOWN ORC:

But sooner or later…

somebody remembers.

[3:05 — THE AWAKENING]

[A low Orc choir slowly rises.]

ORC CHOIR:

Stone remembers.

Blood remembers.

Stone remembers.

Blood remembers.

[BOOM.]

NARRATOR:

Deep beneath the Iron Hollows…

a young Orc placed his hand
upon a drum that had not spoken
in three centuries.

His name…

was GrimJaw.

[Silence.]

GRIMJAW — barely above a whisper:

Speak.

[MASSIVE WAR-DRUM HIT.]

BOOOOOOM.

[The choir erupts.]

ORC CHOIR:

GRIME!

[BOOM.]

GRIME!

[BOOM.]

GRIME!

[Everything suddenly cuts out.]

[3:25 — TRANSITION INTO “FROM THA HOLLOWS”]

[A tiny metallic ticking begins.]

tick.

tick.

tick.

tick.

[Each tick gradually gains sub-bass.]

tick.

tick.

GRIMJAW — distorted whisper:

They stole the sound.

[tick]

So we’re taking it back.

[tick]

[Deep inhale.]

GRIMJAW:

From tha Hollows…

[The ticking transforms into the hi-hat pattern of Track 2.]

CUT DIRECTLY INTO “FROM THA HOLLOWS.”
