I’ve actually written the music for “The Red Mirror” a long time ago. It was a song that had no lyrics.
I think that the initial beat was actually for a very old song I had planned for Industry Giant, but never really managed to release it.
Whispers in My Mind was the name and it was a really weird song. It was very painful to sing it and I actually sang the first version of the song myself, so that the artists I wanted to collaborate with would know exactly how I wanted it to sound and the melodic line for the voice.
It was such a crazy and chaotic song, that I remember I actually took it off Youtube back in the day. I think it was late summer 2008 when I completed the initial project for Whisper in My Mind.
I began new sessions using the exact original tracks from back then. I was glad I could still sample it all. Suno AI and my work on recordbox ddj helped a lot in fixing the chaotic sound, while keeping the essence that “made the song tik”.
The lyrics weren’t so impressive, so once I had a good sound for what I wanted, I wrote the perfect lyrics to explain a very eerie concept that’s been haunting me. “I will reflect your world in blood”.
It’s an evil object, in the shape of a mirror that reflects a certain kind of reality back to the user… but it makes it look so vivid and real, that it entraps the beholder and then torments them with images of death, blood and evil happenings. The object feeds itself with the horrors growing in the mind of its user and forces the user into Illusion Overdrive (hehe). By the time the Red Mirror is done, the user can’t recall if he now sees the real world or “the other world”.
If it could, the Red Mirror would keep each user trapped until their life runs out.
